Jared Rasband

Jared joined the University’s Office of General Counsel in 2020. Jared received a B.A. in Portuguese from Brigham Young University and his J.D. from Penn State Law in University Park, Pennsylvania. Following law school, Jared became a prosecutor for the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office and the Utah County Attorney’s Office. As a prosecutor, Jared prosecuted a variety of crimes ranging from DUIs to homicides and many things in between. After several years as a prosecutor, Jared joined Brigham Young University’s Title IX Office as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator in order to pursue his interest in higher education law. While Jared advises on a variety of University matters, Jared’s current primary responsibilities include advising on issues concerning Title IX and other forms of protected class discrimination, student conduct, student affairs, and employment law matters. Jared is a member of the Utah State Bar.
